    Artful won't shut down properly

The past couple of times I've used Artful Aardvark I've been unable to shut it down properly--it goes several minutes before I lose patience and shut it down myself. I'm running it on the QEMU VVM. Might that be the problem?

Hard to say. Not noticed any issue on my real hardware on Virtualbox VMs.

Just for the record, I still have occasional problems shutting down 17.10 on the VMM QEMU. When I check the usage graph, I see a break between the the shutdown and a low lurking wavy line, then another break, and so on. This causes my main OS to delay in shutting down (usually it takes a few seconds) until it fixes whatever was wrong with virtual machine shutdown. I also have to move my mouse around on startup once the pointer disappears in order to continue the loading process. I am inclined to think this is a VMM problem, but since I don't have 17.10 installed on a hard disk I can't tell. By the way, I prefer VMM QEMU to Virtual Box because I can see the whole screen. Kubuntu 17.10 looks to be a good product and I am considering going away from Neon once the LTS version appears next April.
