Auto-update didn't seem to have survived upgrade.

Discover's Updater shows the files being downloaded. Previous behaviour looked like that had already been done.

I think it doesn't show progress now, instead of progress it only moves forth and back. It looks like software is upgraded as expected.

Must be my network performance. In any case, why does Discover even bother if all is (or can/should be) done 'behind the scene' in apt? A simple report that all is complete ought to be enough unless manual intervention is absolutely imperative.

I am having similar issues with Discover. Hence I just posted maybe a similar question. I wonder why Kubuntu doesn't get rid of Discover since it doesn't seem to be all that helpful
