    Screen locker is broken

    Hello everyone,

    This morning I updated kubuntu using the graphical interface via the little icon on the bar in the right low corner of my screen. After that it seems that my screen locker got broken.

    Each time my computer locks the screen because I'm not using it, a black screen with white letters appears saying:

    ``The screen locker is broken and unlocking is not possible anymore. In order to unlock switch to a virtual terminal (e.g. Ctrl+Alt+F2), log in and execute the command:

    loginctl unlock-sessions

    Afterwards switch back to the running session (Ctrl+Alt+F7)".

    It works if I follow the instructions, but it is a bit annoying to have it all the time.
    I found this tread on the forum:
    https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...+locker+broken
    but there is no answer.

    Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

    You can try updating via the konsole.

    Launch Konsole. Type: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

    Note any warning and/or error messages and instructions/steps to follow.

      Hello everyone, it seems that the problem disappeared once I had rebooted my computer. Sorry for this post not very useful.

      @Snowhog, thanks for the answer!
