Hi,
after update my Kubuntu 15.10 to 16.04 the system boot to a black screen. The OS does not freeze. I can shutdown the system by a short power button action (no hard switch off).
With this work around I can start the system:
At system start I am able to enter the grub menu by pressing the "ESC" key and choose the second entry (Recovery Mode). When the System shows the screen with the recovery options, I choose the first entry (continue). The System pursuer the boot process to the login (SDDM). Now I can Login and use the system.
Any ideas whats wrong with my system and how can I solve it?
