kubuntu-desktop is a meta package. "It is safe to remove this package if some of the desktop system packages are not desired."

I'm also having problems with the kipi plugins.

for me the choice is to either have gwenview or kipi.

I was more interested in Gwenview so now I can't (re) install either kipi, digikam or showfoto.

This problem has been around for about a week now.

I believe I read somewhere that Gwenview doesn't have a maintainer which would suuck as it's a key component of KDE.

Okay if its safe to remove them, although i have no clue why it wants to. Better burn another daily build and burn a copy just in case..

                        caution is always prudent .

the only thing of note you will be missing is knsnapshot ,,,,,,,,but I would think it should reinstall ,,,,one of it's dependencies IS libkipi11.

Humm ,,IDK you have them all enabled.

I'd go ahead and do the -f install and let ksnapshot get removed and then see if you can add it back .

have your install media ready just in case
