media files won't play

Hello folks,

I had just installed Kubuntu 15.10 KDE with Plasma5 on my laptop.
At the beginning I am having an issue with playing mp3 music and also playing video.

The players are already installed on the system (Amarok & Dragon player).
The sounds are working properly because everything is fine when I play some videos from youtube.

I wondering is the issue with reading the files or maybe is something else?

have you installed any codecs?
mp3 is not a free codec so it is not included by default ( try installing the libmpg123-0 and libmad0 packages)
you may also be missing some video codecs but without knowing what kind of video im not sure what codec you should install ( but if you install VLC it should pull about all of them)
