As some might know I'm presently experimenting with the http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ci/stable/ubuntu/ ppa and yes it kills kittens and also regularly breaks the system
Since this morning there is a new issue (Kubuntu does not know problems ), this Thinkpad W520 laptop no longer detects the external monitor.
It makes no difference using either VGA or HDMI, plugging in to a running system or booting with or without the monitor.
I'm presently running on the Intel graphics of this Optimus system, I did try nVidia as well by selecting it in the BIOS but that has it's own issues.
There is no way to enable the nVidia driver, though the 355 driver is installed the button for proprietary driver installation has disappeared from the System Settings.
