kmail doesn't follow http links

Since the upgrade to 15.10 kmail doesn't follow http links anymore. If you click a link, a window pops up which tells you something like that:

The file or folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500333 does not exist

I've already reported a bug on launchpad in October 2015 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1500333) but nobody has responded to it yet.
Maybe it was the wrong place to do.
Does somebody on this forum has an idea how to get this working again?

KDE stuff is best reported on KDE's bug tracker. I have not experienced this at all myself, but there is one report on it:
