update to new kernel 4.2.0.18 on laptop

    Hi,

i had on my laptop kernel 4.2.0.17-generic and laptop was working great.
Yesterday i did upgrade to kernel 4.2.0.18 and since my laptop boot display few messages lines and display a blank/black screen...after few seconds, laptop displays the same messages (max 10 lines) and once again blank screen.

laptop never reboots or launchs kubuntu 15.10 with new kernel.

If i run grub abd select kernel 4.2.0.17, kubuntu runs normaly.

What could be the problem and how can i solve it ?
i can not read those 10 lines messages as they are displayed very fast.

    thx

    Code:
    Ctrl-alt-F1
    should give you terminal prompt

    does it?
    if so then

    Code:
    dmesg
    might show an error
failing that look at boot log

I firstly tried that but impossible to check anything... screen was blinking in permanence

so i removed the linux-image-4.2.0-18-genereci kernel and kept kernel 4.2.0-17-generic that works

        Stick with what works then
I have found 4.2.6 has solved nearly all my intel graphics issues but YMMV

Dont forget to mark as solved : )
