    Weird video problem

I put XORG in the prefix but this might 'just' be an nVidia or Intel problem.

About a week ago I enabled the Optimus/Bumblebee stuff on my Thinkpad W520.
The last few years I had set the BIOS to nVidia only but wanted to see how far along this Optimus stuff has developed.

    It works.

Last night I attached an external monitor via HDMI and it was immediately recognised, something that has always worked on this computer with Kubuntu.

Because the external monitor was on the wrong side in system settings/monitor I dragged it to the other side.
This caused an immediate log out.
After logging in again the mouse is locked in the external monitor while all applications, including System Settings and the nVidia Server Settings application are on the laptop's own screen.

I other words, I can't use the GUI to edit anything!

Unplugging the HDMI cable brings back a perfectly normal screen on the laptop, reattaching the external monitor brings back the problem of log out and a locked-in mouse...

Any ideas what I can do to get that mouse out of it's jail?

    PS,

I'm running nVidia 355.06 with Server Version Number: 11.0
