Soundblaster Audigy FX [was working before]

I know Creative and Linux are no longer friends (as it were) but on 15.04 my Soundblaster was pplpug and p[lay - After upgrading to 15.10, no sound after 4 days of googleing and fighting.

Can anyone help a novice level with instrucitons? Or suggestions for a more compatable card

Dell Power edge T110 desktop server, no onboard sound. Radeon HD5430/5450 Video card with un-used HDMI

I Have the same problem. My soundblaster fx is showing in the settings but I can't get any audio. There is just this annoying noise. Sometimes when I reboot my machine the audio works for some time and then goes silent.
And after another reboot I get the noise again. Is there a way to get my card working with kubuntu 15.10?
