    OK so 30min after posting ,,,,,,,,,baloo finished .

    it would seem that the updates that included ,,,,,,libkf5balooengine5:amd64 , baloo-kf5-dev:amd64 , baloo-kf5:amd64 and libkf5baloo5:amd64
    caused baloo to redo the hole index instead of just checking it as I was used to .

    on a reboot after letting it run on over 500GB of data the checking of the index took about 30 seconds .

        Baloo 5.15 ?

        https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...71-Baloo-links -> http://vhanda.in/blog/ -> http://vhanda.in/blog/2015/10/baloo-5-15/ :

        ...With Baloo 5.15, all your files will be reindexed from scratch. It's unavoidable.

          Balloo_file_extractor has now been running for about a week and it's still eating 12% of the i7 CPU and using around 2GB of RAM.

          The first 24 hrs it took all 8 threads for itself, then I shut it down.
          Because I don't believe there is this much to index I might have to disable it completely.
