There is no update for Firefox above v37

    Hi guys,

Can someone help me, my Firefox is still at version 37, even though this was released ages ago.

When I check for updates, there are no new Firefox packages.

    These are my update options:

    https://launchpad.net/~moz-plasma
This ppa ppa is deprecated, need to use the new one, as per the message on the above ppa page

    use this
    https://launchpad.net/~plasmazilla/+...buntu/releases

Remember that firefox has to be rebuilt and patched/hacked/modified in order to get the plasma 5 integration, so it will usually lag a release or more behind whatever is current.

You do not need a ppa to update Firefox as Ubuntu 15.04 has Firefox 41 in its repository. See page https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/vivid/i...buntu0.15.04.1

This page would be better https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/vivid/+package/firefox

I would say that it is the mirror your connecting to that is not up to date. You might want to try another mirror.

That was my first thought as well, but if you look at the OPs sources, you will see that there is a ppa added for a firefox with kde integration, and this ppa is no longer maintained, so it's last version (which has been pinned to keep a stock FF from replacing it) is 37.

          Guys, thank you a bunch.

This problem was bothering me for a few months, and you helped me solve this.

I removed old ppa "moz-plazma", but still it wouldn't update, I suspect because of the some dependencies on installed "integration" packages it wouldn't update.

After I added the new ppa "https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/vivid/+package/firefox" now I am on version 40

Such a strange problem, who would have though that adding third party ppa for plasma integration (that in the mean time stopped being maintained) would case this problem and stop Firefox from being updated...

Once again thank you for your help, I wouldn't have solved this this in 100 years.
