    windows key has no action

Is there a reason why the windows key (meta) doesn't open the menu ? Is this a bug or a design decision ?

On linux it is another modifier key like Shift, Ctrl and Alt.

edit: the default shortcut for the menu should be Alt+F1. you can set it to any other combo using the options dialog for the widget

Oh rat ! I don't want another combo, just that key working. I'm a windows user coming here so that's a serious drawback. Sorry, I am not an expert on Linux which widget are you talking about, please ?

EDIT : Ok I found what you mean. I wasn't aware that the menu was a widget. There is no easy way to get a combination which works with one hand, they are all meta keys in that area. Anyway I settle for "windows+x".
      Thanks

        KSuperKey

        KDE-Apps.org: http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=154569
Description:ksuperkey allows you to open the application launcher in KDE Plasma Desktop using the Super key (also known as the 'Windows key'). Unlike other solutions, it will not affect your current keyboard shortcuts, as the Super key will still act as a modifier when held down.

I am surprised that it is not include in all Linux Kdistros. Kubuntu are you listening ? If you want to attract windows user, get on it.

Linkbot, you are my hero today. Works great !

Here for those not so good with Linux, like me, how to get it working.

              sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mehanik/ksuperkey
              sudo apt-get update
              sudo apt-get install ksuperkey
              ksuperkey

To install permanently on reboot launch, System Settings → Startup and Shutdown → Autostart → Add Program -> ksuperkey
              That should work.

There may be some problems sometime closing the menu with a second press if nothing is selected but <esc> close it.
              Thank everyone.
