    Can't log in

Recently, KDE has stopped letting me log in. It accepts my password, but when I hit the Login button, it just stops. The cursor has turned into an X. I can still move it around, but clicking on stuff doesn't do anything. Rebooting doesn't fix it.

Force this situation, then press Ctrl+Alt+F2 to switch to a console TTY. Log in with your normal credentials. Then install the package pastebinit:
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install pastebinit
Now use this utility to copy some files to Ubuntu's paste bin:
    Code:
    pastebinit ~/.xsession-errors

    pastebinit /var/log/Xorg.0.log
Reply here with the URLs from those commands so that we can take a look at the relevant log files.
