How do I put icon in a specfiic Applications tab ?

Sorry for a simplistic question but if an application is not correctly identified by the system and put in the proper category in the Applications tab, how can I do it manually ?

For instance if I install Eclipse but don't see it in the Development tab, how can I put it there ?

Right click on the Kmenu icon, select Edit menus (or similar). The menu editor will open, and you can simply drag the item to a different place.
