Can't get res of monitor above 1024x768.
Could the problem be the ieGeek kvm switch I am using? All 3 computers connected to it, running various linux flavors are all stuck at 1024x768.

if the usb kvm is the source of problem, is there a way around it other than hooking all 3 manually to the monitor during install?

I have zero experience with such switches but what stops you from trying a direct connection to the monitor?

Missing is info about the video card, driver, connection and monitor you use.
