no full screen youtube allowed here

I used to be able to expand youtube videos to full screen size, but recently I can't--all I get is a dark screen. Hitting ESC brings me back to the regular size. I don't know if this is true on all videos, but it certainly seems that way. I'm using 64-bit Kubuntu 14.04 LTS (great OS) on a desktop with 4 gb memory and an i3 processor. My browser is the latest Firefox. Any help?

What is your video card? What drivers are you using?

The video card is AMD Radeon HD 5450. According to Device Manager, it use X.Org X. According to Windows 10, the driver is version 15.200.1062.1004. I'm not well versed in drivers for video cards, so I may not have given the right information.

You could try making a change with the Driver Management in System Settings.
Or if you feel adventurous then you could try the AMD proprietary driver which works well for me.

According to inxi -G, I am using this driver: ati, radeon (unloaded: fbdev, vesa)

It works well on everything but going full screen on You Tube videos.

This might be just a Firefox problem--I've tried going full screen on two other browsers, Chrome and Vivaldi, and it worked fine. Is there any way to fix this in Firefox, or do I have to go to Chrome when I use You Tube?

May be a flash thing... checkout the pepperflash instead of the old insecure adobe flash for linux.

That seemed to do the trick. I thought I had installed freshplayer before, but something must have happened to it. Anyway, I can now get full screen YouTube on Firefox, so thanks.
