    Locking packages to prevent upgrade

    I added the wine PPA
I'm happy with the current version and would prefer not to upgrade it.
I locked the packages. But is that sufficient?Click image for larger version

it should be ,,that is how it is supposed to work .

the next time you do updates , do it in the terminal and you will see what is going to be upgraded and can abort if you see wine(your locked packages ,,you still have 2 unlocked) is in the list .

When using the normal Muon Package manager before you commit to an upgrade you should press the Full Upgrade button and will be offered a list of packages to be upgraded.

2 packages will not lock, I think it's because they are the same package as the _64 counterpart. I use a _64 system

Using 'Full Upgrade' I get this, which I assume is going to update the locked packaages

          Just to add to this
Muon Package Manager keeps crashing on me if I try and prevent the upgrade of wine

Even though the packages are locked, the Software Updater still pulls wine in as an update, but you can just uncheck wine there and run the other updates.

The only way to do this really is I have found:

Disable the wine PPA once it's installed and working.
