    How can I change the lightDM lock screen wallpaper in Kubuntu 14.04?

    Hi there, newbie here

    I've been wondering for a while now, how can I change my lock screen's wallpaper from the default in Kubuntu 14.04?
    The lightdm locker KDE module does NOT have an option to change the default wallpaper (which is Elarun) under the "Simple locker" option.

    This sucks for me, as I prefer it so much more over the "Desktop widgets" or "Screen saver" option.
    Sure, the Desktop widgets type has an option to change the wallpaper, but I find it more tedious to select unlock every time. Besides, I really do not need any widgets in my lock screen.

    Any solutions, workarounds, or even a pointer is much appreciated

      Testing...

      Testing a way to do it.

      1) Copying the default theme from /usr/share/kde4/apps/desktoptheme/default/ to ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/ and editing the ~/.kde/share/apps/desktoptheme/default/metadata.desktop.

      Now it has:

      [Wallpaper]
      defaultWallpaperTheme=My-lock-screen
      defaultFileSuffix=.png
      defaultWidth=1920
      defaultHeight=1080

      2) Making the ~/.kde/share/wallpapers/My-lock-screen/

      (an example is the Elarun: /usr/share/wallpapers/Elarun)

      3) Right clicking the desktop: Lock Screen

      Seems to work at here...

        Works

        Thanks a lot for the short walkthrough Rog132

        That solution seems to be working fine on my end too.
        I also realized I have to use a proper image resolution, or the lock screen wallpaper will appear blank.
