    Netbook-Black Screen-Must Press Power Button?

    Netbook-Black Screen-Must Press Power Button?

    Hi,

I have a problem with Kubuntu 14.04 LTS 64Bit on my Netbook.
When I don't use the Netbook for a few days
the screen goes black and I must turn it off on back on using the power button?

I checked in settings and all power related stuff seems to be off but I still have above problem.
Can someone help me to fix it?

    Thanks!

    Jesse

not sure what it could be,
    but,

instead of using the power button go for the magic sequence to safely restart your system:
press ALt+Print Screen together and while holding them the following key sequence: REISUB - which i remember as busier backwards

unRaw (take control of keyboard back from X),
tErminate (send SIGTERM to all processes, allowing them to terminate gracefully),
kIll (send SIGKILL to all processes, forcing them to terminate immediately),
    Sync (flush data to disk),
    Unmount (remount all filesystems read-only),
    reBoot.
    copy/paste from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_SysRq_key)

check the power setting in your bios/ efi.. they sometimes are overriding the OS's settings.
