no what your seeing their is "update-grub being ran after every kernel removal ,,,,,it's actually finding that it is their and adding it to the "new" boot options list ,,,,like I said it will do this after every kernel it removes to "rebuild the boot list .Originally posted by logan01 View PostAfter entering Yes, sure hope the first word "Found" in the listed results does not mean "found and removed". It's "finding" several -97 / -98s. Even a few -59s which I thought were gone.

Will those three -59s leave after reboot? If not, I can manually remove them in Konsole. Thought they were removed earlier in Muon.Kubuntu 14.04 / KDE 4.13.3 / GRUB Version: 0.97-29ubuntu66

I realize when I first got Kubuntuized in Sep 2015, we (yall) created those partition things.
Where do I find how much of the hdd is Windows, is Kubuntu.
Is it difficult, size permitting, to increase the Kubuntu capacity? I rarely use Windows short of checking for updates every couple of months.Kubuntu 14.04 / KDE 4.13.3 / GRUB Version: 0.97-29ubuntu66

IF you reboot and go to Advanced in the Grub Menu and boot into the -97 kernel, then logout/reboot back into the -98 kernel, you should no longer see apt-get wanting to remove the -97 kernel.Windows no longer obstruct my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

LOL. That GRUB menu is so long it gives me the willys. Do I need to do that to prevent the attempted removal of -97 kernel with apt-get or just for reassurance? Question. Somehow, I managed (intentionally) for GRUB to be visible for 10 seconds (a bit quick). Before is was like 30 seconds or so. Ubuntu is on top therefore I assume it's the default after 10 seconds. During that short 10 seconds, can I screen shot that or is the laptop non-functional. I could snap a pic with my phone if necessary. I'd like to have a pic for future reference in case you need it.
