    Unable login Kde Plasma

    Hi friends,
I've just installed via apt the meta package "kubuntu-desktop" together with gnome and xfce.
The default Display Manager is GDM.

The problem is that seems impossible loading kde.
Indeed launching kde by GDM , I can see the image of the desktop and the mouse pointer , I also see an icon of harddisk but everything stops here, while pulsing icon harddisk .

I've search for ".xsession_errors" for verify the desktop manager login failure, but I haven't it.

do you know if this is a known problem ?

    many thanks

check that you have free space on the drive your home folder is on .. your first login to kde it has to create some configs and if you don't have enuff space it can't create them.

you can use the command below in a terminal to see how much space on your drives.
    Code:
    df -h

      Hi sithlord48,
      the free space is >50GB for global home user;
I've created a new user "guest" but the behaviour is the same...

      many thanks again!

you should be able to find .xsession-errors in your hold folder (the . hides it ) try in using the command

            Code:

            nano ~/.xsession-errors
see if you can view it and if you find any errors let us know here
