    I figured it out.. initially when I installed the OS and created a password, I disabled the ask for password at login. This prevented me from switching my desktop environment.
    I guess now I can delete ubuntu's desktop.

    Thanks Snow..

    Thanks for the reply Snow..

    $ sudo apt-get install kde-workspace

    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
    kde-workspace is already the newest version.

    I'm scratching my head...
    Any thoughts?

    My next step is to uninstall ubuntu's desktop. I prefer doing this after my kDE is up..

    Hey Guys,

    So after (sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop) and 10 min later, I reboot and still, I don't get the KDE desktop..

    Running a i7 64 bit 300GB HD 8GB ram T430 thinkpad.

    Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
