Thinkpad x240 - trackpointer configuration

kubuntu 14.04 LTS

I want to use the trackpointer, not the trackpad.

With System & Settings I could configure that the tyrackpad is switched off when I use an external mouse. However, there is nothing given to configure the trackpointer.

Now I found this ppa

which has listed

configure-trackpoint 0.7-3~trusty

Are there problems know with this ppa? If yes, what kind of problems?

What kind of experience was made with configuring the track pointer of an Thinkpad x240?
