    mime type, file association

I have a problem with file association.
Tonight I wanted to edit my conky configuration file and in Dolphin I did an Alt+. to find the hidden files.
Surprisingly Dolphin only shows folder/directory icons and clicking the real configuration text files will launch multiple instances of Dolphin.

So far I'm not able to remove Dolphin from the file association or add kate to it.

    Update:

I always install plasma quick access to start Dolphin in the right place.
Today I clicked on it and it opened not Dophin but Smplayer...

Checking the file association for folders I noticed they had Smplayer as top app...
I changed it to Dolphin what worked but now text files would again also try to open wth Dolphin.
Next I checked the file association for plain text files and found Dolphin on top, followed by kate.
So I changed them around and indeed the text files would now open in kate, no idea why I could get it to work yesterday.

I did have to log out a few times and again change the mime types for text and folders but eventually it seems to have returned to normal...

Edit: now folders try to open in kate...

      Update 2.

I did a new install with the Beta.
The first time I kept my /home, this time I first moved ~/.kde so some configurations were redone.

      All is working fantastically well.
