apt-get install : Unable to locate package

    Hello everybody,

I have installed Kubuntu 14.04 alpha1 on my laptop and it works great.

The only issue I have so far is to install two softwares :
    apt-get install acroread
E: Unable to locate package acroread

I have enabled the canonical partner repository.

    and

    apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio
    apt-get update
    apt-get install netflix-desktop
    Unable to locate package netflix-desktop

    Cheers,

    Brian

Thanks Richb for you help, but I alread had a look at this webpage before posting on this forum :

But just to be sure, I tried a second time :

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ trusty partner"
      sudo apt-get update
      sudo apt-get install acroread
E: Unable to locate package acroread

      Thank you for your help,

      Cheers,

As far as I can tell from further researching this, Acroread is not available for Trusty or Saucy. Others please correct me if I am wrong.

Correct, it is not there in Saucy, and even if it were to be available in trusty, this normally happens closer to release day.

I install it one day each year, just to fill my state tax form. then I remove it till next year. Cool thing is that it calculates the figures for me, unfortunately it does not display correctly in Okular, etc, and prints a little off there.
