package not installing

Hello, whilst realising this must be a simple matter to resolve, any assistance will be appreciated.

The other day I did command line update and when finding one package to upgrade typed to do the same but the result was thus:-

nitrux-icon-theme

ah so thought I will just remove it ...

I have done a search through forum and web and keep seeing different answers, before applying anything wondered if I any one would suggest the best route to sort this. ?

I have that icon theme installed @hear on 12.10 ,,,,,,where did you get yours ?

I seem to remember this was loaded from repositories with one other, as for the others in my icon list I am sure these were acquired from KDE-Look.

I had the same problem - answer and fix are here. In a nutshell -

Remove the file nitrux-icon-theme.list in /var/lib/dpkg/info/, and update your package cache.

Worked for me...

This icon theme hasn't been packaged beyond Quantal (12.10). If you originally installed it from a downloaded .deb package you can see if it can still be used in Saucy (13.10) by adding the PPA:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:upubuntu-com/themes

then running:

sudo apt-get udpate && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Because this is an icon theme, there shouldn't be anything in it that would create any problems with Saucy, but you want to look at any warnings apt may give.

Snowhog - This is the company that makes the icons - http://nitrux.in/ and they have their own PPA here: https://launchpad.net/~noobslab/+archive/nitrux-os. There was a problem with a recent update on their behalf and I've posted the fix above

Cool. Always best, when using a third-party repository/PPA, to use one that contains packages for the Ubuntu release you are running. Thank you for the info.

I did the removing of "nitrux-icon-theme.list in /var/lib/dpkg/info/ "
then run update and upgrade

As you can see the second run of upgrade, the file is no longer shown and no no longer showing the error, thank you for your help and assistance in this matter.

Hummm wehen I installed the nitrux icons I just DL'd the nitrux-KDE.tar.gz from hear http://store.nitrux.in/ and pointed the system settings>applacation appearance>icons>install theme file ,,,at it ,,,done , working , ,,,, but this was in 12.10 .....going to give it a go hear in 14.04 and see what happens .................................................. .. yup worked just fine hear as well
