KRDC not saving password

13.10 saucy, fully updated:
connect to pi@raspberrypi works fine, but requires a password.
KRDC configured - checkbox checked - to save passwords (Kwallet) in general configuration, but password needed at dialog every connect. What gives?

Firstly, this was on a fresh install, with Wallet not enabled.
When enabled, Wallet asks for password. With none configured, wallet will not save password - problem persists, but in another form.
CURE: Delete kdewallet, create new kdewallet and leave password blank. Wallet now saves, and does not ask for its password.... BLISS!
