Something I noticed just now: Thunderbird also opens the GTK+ file picker when selecting an attachment!

So the uploader is Flash. Interesting. Using Chromium's element inspector, I can see that, indeed, the button will call a Flash method. Flash is written in Gtk+. So perhaps this is the issue -- Flash doesn't know how to use KDialog.
Would you please check what I asked about in post #12?
Thunderbird uses much of the same code base as Firefox, as both are written in XUL with some Gtk+. Without the extra Blue Shell integration work, Firefox uses Gtk+. The Blue Shell PPA for Firefox adds KDE integration. Blue Shell would need to do similar integration work for Thunderbird to get it to use KDialog.

Sorry, I missed that one.Originally posted by SteveRiley View PostWould you please check what I asked about in post #12?
I've tried using Firefox, but it never really does it for me - it seems a little bit clunky and displays things like the Outlook Web App (for work) in a really strange way. Maybe I should try it again with the Blue Shell PPA.Originally posted by SteveRiley View PostThunderbird uses much of the same code base as Firefox, as both are written in XUL with some Gtk+. Looks fine. I really think the problem you're encountering is that Flash only knows how to use the Gtk+ file picker.Originally posted by Feathers McGraw View PostSorry, I missed that one.
OWA is checking for certain things in the browser user agent string. One problem with using Chromium is that OWA intentionally forces the old UI that doesn't do message threading or pop-up message composer windows. You can trick this, though.Originally posted by Feathers McGraw View PostI've tried using Firefox, but it never really does it for me - it seems a little bit clunky and displays things like the Outlook Web App (for work) in a really strange way.
Install the user-agent switcher for Chrome extension. Then go to your OWA URL. Now click the little page-with-glasses icon next to the URL bar:

Change the user-agent to Firefox | Windows Firefox 15. Voila, new UI.

Even worse in Firefox, though!Originally posted by SteveRiley View PostThat's not the Chromium way... it's the old OWA light version. It's icky, I think! LOL
