    Muon Discover

    Hello all. I have recently upgraded to 13.10. It was hard getting the update as I continued to get a calculation error. However, I was finally able to upgrade and now all is well. The issue is that when I used Muon Discover for the first time I made a mistake and hide the menus. For some strange reason I 'm unable to get the menu back and I can't even do a search for software because it went along with the menus. the shortcut keys are not working for enabling or showing the menu. the only short key that works are for the software package and that’s it. Please can someone help me get the default setting back for Muon Discover or to even restore the menus.

    Thank you

    Heh, I decided to switch off the menu and indeed it seems there's no easy way to get it back.
    Yes before switching it off I did check the keyboard shortcuts it supports, nothing for the menu (usually Ctrl+m) so I had expected a little button to remain...
    You probably have to find the file that stores the configurations.

    Anyway, you're much better off using the Muon Package Manager.

        In the mean time I've been searching for some config file that stores this change and did not find anything that works, surely it is not stored in the binary...

        There is a file ~/.kde/share/config/muon-discoverrc and it contains:
        [MainWindow]
        Height 1200=1201
        Height 900=549
        MenuBar=Disabled
        State=AAAA/wAAAAD9AAAAAAAABCYAAAIlAAAABAAAAAQAAAAIAAAACPwAAAA BAAAAAgAAAAEAAAAWAG0AYQBpAG4AVABvAG8AbABCAGEAcgAAA AAA/////wAAAAAAAAAA
        ToolBarsMovable=Disabled
        Width 1600=1062
        Width 1920=1921
        Changing Disabled to Enabled did not bring the menu back, as matter of fact starting up the program changes the setting in the rc back to Disabled

          The bug report mentions ~/.kde/share/config/muon-discoverrc (I don't use muon so can't check, but seems logical)

            I just found out removing this file will fix the problem

            I started by renaming the original (~/.kde/share/config/muon-discoverrc), restarted muon discovery and a new rc was generated plus the menu bar reappeared.

              Solved

              Thank you all Tennis I was able to find the config file thanks to all of you for the education. I had no idea that the location of these files were located in my home folder. I deleted the files and I got my menus back.
