I hit Alt+F2 and typed "Muon" and chose the software center. To my surprise, the Kubuntu 13.04 software center came up. When I tried to use it, it crashed. It's not a disaster because I looked in the program launcher to find that the new Muon Discover is installed. I tried it and it works perfectly. Somehow the upgrade didn't completely eliminate the old version of Muon Software Center. I guess I could leave it and never use it without there being a huge disaster. However, it would be nice to remove it if I can do so without causing any damage.

 muon contains 4 interfaces

 Package manager
 Software Center
 Discover
 Updater

they all use the same backend and are for different classes of users. since discover is new and has mostly the same usecase as the software center i would think that in time as discover get any bugs works out and becomes more stable it will eventually replace the software center. currently they are both installed in saucy.Mark Your Solved Issues [SOLVED]
