I am typical of the normal "new to Linux" person from Windblows...

I could not find any "easy" way to "just click this" to get somehow hooked up with Facebook.

      So........since I am a geek...

Here is a possible salient piece of information:

Others WILL BE ALONG SOON. hang tight

Ok the CRITICAL PIECE TO THIS PUZZLE..................

is that your "e-mail address" in Kontact....................

has to be the same e-mail address for Facebook.

Please re-read what I just wrote...

THE COMMON DENOMENATOR....................is the e-mail addy.

given that you have an e-mall address that is COMMON to both Kontact and Facebook:

In other words YOU...........that is YOU.....have "synced" the Kontact e-mail so that Facebook can interface with it...

The aegis upon you setting up the sync in Kontact with the e-mail addy.....

        In SAUCY:

Kontact/contact subpart/file/new/add address book/ I woodsmoke see DAV groupware source and also below that Facebook (makes your Facebook data available in KDE) / click ok

you then get an interactive box wherein you must: enter your credentials to log in to a groupware server

that means enter your information from Facebook , your e-mail and your password

        user

        password

From here it is up to you. Akonadia/KDE/PIM is ready....

        BUT...............just as with YAHOO............

Facebook may not WANT you to hook into Facebook with an "external" operator.

That is not a problem with KDE ...............

it is a problem of a guy who went offshore so as to not pay taxes to the U.S., it is called proprietary software...

        HOWEVER AGAIN..............

I imagine that someone like SR will be on here and say that the old woodsmoker is way too drunk on rum 'n coke and this is how you do it! lol

HEY................try my thingy and if it doesn't work WHICH IT PROBABLY WILL NOT.......cause I'm just a hardware kinda guy....

And SR or somebody will do the deed!
