Well, then you're definitely not using a PPA to obtain those, so ppa-purge is not going to help you.

Returning to your problem...you're trying to perform a do-release-upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10 and it's failing? And you suspect the failure is because you have installed Intel's binary graphics stack?

This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug using the
command 'ubuntu-bug ubuntu-release-upgrader-core' in a terminal.

Some options that I can think of...

* Uninstall the Intel stack and allow the computer to boot generic VESA. Perform the upgrade. Try the Intel installer 1.0.2, even though it's for 13.04. It might fail.

* Uninstall the Intel stack and allow the computer to boot generic VESA. Perform the upgrade. Compile the individual bits from the 2013Q3 stack.

* Wait for Intel to release a newer installer for 13.10.

I deleted the repository as per the Intel web site but the upgrade still fails.

I run the upgrade command in a terminal. It errors out like before. I check Software Sources again only to find the Intel repository is back in the list. I am thinking maybe I should send a bug report to Launch Pad about the sudo do-release-upgrade -d being bugged.

Just for my peace of mind, could you cd to /var/log/dist-upgrade and paste the output to the following two commands here:

cat main.log | grep ERROR

and

cat apt.log | grep Broken
