    Network manager disconnects

I am staying at a friends place while she is away. she has a Tyxel wifi router, can't find the model number but it is fairly recent.

It connects fine upon boot, but then after a while, and this varies in time is disconnects and asks me to give the password. This in itself is a pain.

Smetimes it disconnects and will not even see the router, so I have to reboot.

The router is fine as her mac's all work without a hitch.

Also 13.04 seems to work fine without disconnecting.

But I don't like to use that as my fan is way to busy on 13.04.

How can I trouble shoot this?

let me guess ,,,,,your running on battery power when this happens ?

if yes ,,,,I have this happen as well and have never found a REAL solution ,,,,,,I think it's some power management prob.

what I do is just hit the wifi key/button to turn it off (physical switch on the laptop),,,,,wait a second ,,and turn it back on ,,,,,,,,and it will auto connect again.

Hey vinnie. Thanks, no I am not running on battery. I know that issue, had it before and your solution works for that.

I think I have it solved though, I upgraded to kernel 3.11.9 from 3.11.0 and it has been nice to me for the last 2.5 hours or so.

If I am still online after the rams-cardinals game I think all is well.
