Grub opens rescue shell after fresh install

    Hi, everyone.
I have just made a fresh install of Kubuntu 13.10. However, after the initial restart, I'm dropped into the grub command line. I don't know how to boot into my installation from grub shell, I have tried various guides but none worked. Can someone please help me?

What does 'ls' show? You can use the 'configfile' command to launch grub, but your dropped to a shell because something is wrong. bootinfoscript might reveal the error:

      ls returns:
      (hd0) (hd0,gpt4) (hd0,gpt3) (hd0,gpt2) (hd0,gpt1) (cd0) error: failure reading sector 0x0 from 'cd0'.

gpt1 is the EFI partition, gpt2 is /, gpt3 is the encrypted /home, gpt4 is swap.

      bootinfoscript output:

There's no boot loader on the mbr. I don't have efi bios, so I would be of little help. The question comes up quite often on the Ubuntu forums. Maybe post your question there unless someone here has experience with using efi.
