update problem after upgrading to kubuntu 13.10

i have a problem after upgrading to kubuntu 13.10, when i run "sudo apt-get update" on the terminal this message appears

I had the same problem. I had a respository for medibuntu and one for x-swat enabled from 13.04. Once I disabled those two repositories everything cleared up.

Checking google you are not the first with this problem and bug reports have been made, mainly complaining about the cryptic nature of the message.

It seems to have to do with a network problem, changing to a different server for the repositories might help.
