It appears to me that handling of multiple displays works much smoother with 13.10.
With my setup, with two external screens connected to a Thinkpad L420, with 13.04, the desktop was always hanging for about half a minute after log in, as well as when the display configuration was changed. Also, changing the audio setup from "Internal Analog Stereo" to i.e. "Internal Digital Surround 5.1 (HDMI)" required a restart for it to work.
All this works just fine now! :-)
Hope it stays like that up until the final release.
