I've update my 13.04 to 4.11 and kwin is not working!!! When trying to execute from konsole, it says:

kwin: error while loading shared libraries: libwayland-egl.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Anyone with this trouble? Any solution?

EDITED: It was some trouble with an unnofficial repository. FIXED.

What's the model # of your Acer?
How far did you get into the update?

Regardless of what you call 4.11 or its updates, it is the best KDE release in years. To all that KDE power speed has now been added!

Kubuntu Backports installed KDE 4.11.0, which broke qtcurve. Reinstalling qtcurve forces kwin to uninstall. Same with kwin-style-qtcurve. Actually, it's *-style-qtcurve. Reinstalling kde-window-manager uninstalls qtcurve and just about all of the other *-style-qtcurve.

Makes me wish I had thought to backup my system before enabling Backports.

Someone said that a patch had been loaded into Backports, but I can't find it.

Ya, in 1213066, yofel states that a fix was uploaded into backports, but any attempt to install qtcurve still wants to uninstall kwin. So either I'm trying the wrong backports ppa (http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu) or he uploaded to the wrong backporta ppa. I pointed that to him, btw

I stared at it for a while before I noticed that it was precise where the fix was uploaded to. And because of the issues I had with backports alone, I'm afraid to try backports-experimental. I'll try enabling experimental, installing qtcurve, then disabling it.

                        err.... beta-backports, I meant

                        edit: seemed to work.... rebooting
