    kwin not running

    here's what i get from a kwin --replace, also from what i can tell the video drivers are ok. system will still play 3d games both in wine and native.

    Which versions of packages 'kde-window-manager' and 'kde-window-manager-common' do you have installed? And which window decoration are you using?

      looking into this question kde-window-manager was installed but kde-window-manager-common was not.
      after installing kde-window-manager-common the command kwin --replace worked a charm
