All these repeated errors seem to point to a python problem. Almost, if not all the packages that won't upgrade/install are python applications. However, I cannot seem to locate any info on how to fix it, or even determine what is actually wrong.

Hmm, anyone else maybe? Or am I stuck with this now?

Probably not permanently stuck. My thinking here is that python 9or a particular python package) is not fully installed/not configured - post-installation scripts failing for some reason. The packages that need to be installed can't finish installing due to the python problem, as their scripts can't be run.

Can you open Muon Package manager and filter by "broken" status?

Broken is empty, it doesn't display any packages...
But installed is empty also...
only all & not installed shows some packages

Hold on, clicked 'full upgrade' but didn't actually do the upgrade but now 'installed' is populated, so is upgradable & residual configuration but Broken is still empty...
