    Power Options

    Hi,

I am using latest versions of the Kubuntu desktop with Ubuntu 13.04 (not a dual boot) on an Asus UL80Jt laptop. I have confirmed that my settings are set so that when I press the power button I should be prompted with a logout dialogue (giving me the options to "shut down," "restart," or "logout"). However, when I press the power button the machines does not give me the dialogue, instead it simply shuts down.

Is there a simple workaround to get the the desired action of being prompted with a logout dialogue when pressing the power button?

    Thanks in advance.

System Settings -> Power Management - Energy Saving. Change the When power button pressed event on each of the three tabs.

      Thanks!

I checked and, yes, my settings are as you describe.

        Please show the outputs of:
        Code:
        apt-cache policy qdbus

        apt-cache policy qtchooser

        which -a qdbus

        which -a qtchooser

        ll /usr/bin/qdbus
Your problem appears to be Launchpad bug 1124149. A number of workarounds are possible. The answers to my question will help me recommend one for you.
