Spell Check in Caligra Words Almost Unusable

I love the Caligra Words GUI for word processing! However, the spell check makes it almost impossible to use. Often times, after being open for a short time, it wants to spell check bits and pieces of words. A moment ago it tried to indicate an entire sentence needed spell checked, but the entire sentence was 100% correctly spelled! It makes it very hard to type a document. I tried to google it and I was led to believe it may have been a conflict between hunspell and aspell. So I removed hunspell, and that seemed to make it better for a bit but didn't resolve it. Any ideas why spell check is so broken in Caligra Words?
