Would it be possible to use the previous Login Manager instead of LightDM? I have changed the background to what I used before but the Users are in the centre with black letters on a black background. You can move the users but they return next boot. Before the user and password was in the top left corner and not spoiling the picture.(sexy) Apart from that the upgrade worked.

Yes, you can simply install it (kdm). There will be a prompt whwn you do, asking which login manager you would like to use.

Something I learned at UDS... the code in KDM is very crufty and no longer maintained. The KDE SC itself is likely to move to LightDM-KDE at some point.

You can also use GDM. I found LightDM to be a little quirky on my system and reverted to KDM. Which has not had a problem for me.....yet.
