    2. sudo apt-get update
    3.sudo apt-get install rhythmbox

    Hello, aspats55. You've undoubtedly noticed that I've moved most of your threads out of the Social / Casual Talk forum into various forums that are more appropriate for the topics. KFN is organized in such a way that the forum topics allow people to find relevant items of interest more easily.

    In a number of threads now, you've posted quick instructions for how you've installed various programs that aren't part of Kubuntu. Generally, these are programs tailored for GNOME or other desktop environments. There usually exists a reasonable KDE-based alternative for each one. What would be more of interest to the folks here is not that you simply installed another program, but why you chose to do so. For example, why do you find:

    * Adobe Reader better than Okular
    * Rhythmbox or VLC better than Amarok or Bangarang
    * Geany better than Kate

    Perhaps the existing KDE based tools actually would work well for you, and you just might need a bit of assistance figuring out how. Help us help you.
