Odd situationi with additional drivers

Once I have finished the main installation I run the additional drivers application and install the 310 experimental driver (required by steam). After a restart I check its status only to find it reports that its activated but not currently in use. This is odd as its clearly running since the display on my second monitor is no longer mirrored but extended.

Kubuntu 12.10 with currently KDE 4.9.2.

Try running nvidia-settings, if you can then you should be using it.

Yea I can run that ok. So I guess its the same bug thats been going since 12.04.

Try 313 from Xorg-Edgers. Furthermore, try it without an xorg.conf. nVidia's auto-configuration is working beautifully on my ThinkPad T520 with a NVS 4200M.
