Display remains in low brightness after switching to normal mode

    Hi,
I set the Power management to switch to low brightness mode after some time and much later to switch to "power saving mode" (which probably means switching the display off). However I found out that after longer time when I touch the mouse or keyboard the laptop switches to normal mode but the screen does not switch to normal brightness mode (in my case 60%) but in much less - looks like the setting in low battery case. However the laptop power adapter is still plugged in. When I replug it, the laptop switches to normal brightness mode, but it is a little bit annoying (although this is minor issue).

Any idea what could be wrong?

    thanks

There are at least two ways of accessing those settings, one is vai the System Settings, the other via the battery monitor in the System Tray.

Maybe they have a slightly different behaviour, worth checking out.

thanks Snowhog, unchecking "Dim display" solved the problem.
