Applications flash in taskbar when starting up

Hello all,

When I launch some applications (not all), they stay flashing in the taskbar even after they are launched and I click on then. They will stay flashing forever. I have the Oxygen theme and they keep flashing white which is very distracting. I've tried to disable notifications but nothing fixes the problem. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

which applications ?
can you give a list , do the applications work as expected even though you have this strange behavior ?

One application I notice always flashes: SpeedCrunch
Some other ones (Firefox, Filezilla) only do sometimes, usually if I start them in the background and don't click on the window while it loads.

And I think "flashing" might not be totally accurate - with the black Oxygen theme, some of the applications are white in the taskbar unless my mouse hovers over them. Sometimes they do flash but that is the most common behavior.
