    Firefox OS Testing

    I found this today:
    http://dknite.wordpress.com/2012/07/...or-firefox-os/

and wanted to try it out.

I followed the instructions except for the last command:
    I replaced this with:
    Code:
    /home/fintan/Downloads/b2g/b2g -profile /home/fintan/Downloads/b2g/gaia/profile/
    This threw an error:
    XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /home/fintan/Downloads/b2g/libxpcom.so:
libxul.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    Couldn't load XPCOM.
Having read a few posts (Thanks google) I suspect this to be a 64bit issue.

Has anyone tried this successfully on a 64bit machine/install?

Look at the comments under the main article -- I think you will need to install the ia32-libs package.

(which is another story -- ia32-libs is headed for history in the transition to multi-arch Linux).

Hi Dible, searching with synaptic gives me the ia32-libs-multiarch:i386:
This package depends on i386 versions of packages that were removed from
ia32-libs and transitioned to multi-arch. This allows applications using
ia32-libs in previous Ubuntu releases to continue functioning without missing
      libraries.
These are installed but also show a lock.

Mehhh -- if they're only compiling a 32-bit Firefox daily testing package, you might be screwed.

On Debian, they've got the ia32-libs package "pinned", so it shows "held back" on the upgrades. Otherwise, I'd have some problems too.
