    Upgrading skype

I noticed that the version of Skype currently installed on my computer is 2.2, while on their site a more recent version (4.0) is available.

Is there a repository which is updated with the latest versions? The official one does not seem to work, and manually downloading the deb files is pretty unhandy.

    No, not yet.

The Deb from Skype it's safe to use, you will just need to uninstall 2.2 before installing 4.

Ok, thanks, I'll install it that way.

Why does the official repository don't have it? It seems like that version is out from some time now.

Skype is in the "Partner" so it is up to them to provide it there I believe.
